Job Title: Salesforce Public Sector Solutions Enterprise Architect

Slalom is seeking a senior leader capable of serving as a presales architect and leadership oversight for large, complex programs targeted for government-controlled enterprises. Public Sector pursuits require multi-cloud, multi-partner, complex responses that meet RFx requirements as well as a compelling and structured response. The Salesforce Public Sector Solutions Enterprise Architect will work with the Slalom Global and Market teams to provide direction and specialist knowledge in developing overall solutions based on client or RFx requirements. Throughout the sales cycle, the role could require the facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations and/or demonstrations.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven, seasoned leader, who wants to spend the majority of their time helping public sector clients on their digital transformation journeys. These programs will require innovative solutions that might span not only Salesforce, but also other cloud platforms and technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Snowflake. With a strong blend of sales and technical skills, you will use a consultative approach to understanding business and technical requirements to help sales teams develop and refine a technical sales strategy and Salesforce solution fit. You will also have the opportunity to assist in the development of our public sector sales plays, defining how we go to market and wow our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Structure proposed deployment of Salesforce solutions and transform client outcomes into execution as part of the pre-sales cycle
  • Develop business and technical responses to RFx requirements, oral presentation scripts, and prospect meetings to meet specified business outcomes
  • Lead diverse teams, including internal and external partner resources, driving complex, multi-cloud program designs and estimates; drive business, application, integration, data, technology and security architectures to support pursuits
  • Determine which Salesforce and related technologies to leverage in customer-driven architectures using enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Help sales teams and clients design specific deployment roadmaps against business outcomes
  • Drive solutioning sessions on complex pursuits by leading workshops, design sessions, and teams of other domain experts
  • Create, review, approve, and present technical documentation such as business capability maps, gap analysis, customer lifecycles, current state architectures, future state architectures, system context diagrams, business value assessments, and technical roadmaps as outlined by RFx requirements
  • Assist with solutioning and estimating work efforts required for each phase of a large public sector program, including implementation of cloud platforms/services, custom development, integrations, and data migration elements
  • Lead multiple sales opportunities/pursuits simultaneous
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years as an architect designing complex technical solutions that leverage the Salesforce platform and other cloud technologies
  • 4+ years of public sector sales pursuit/consulting experience, including implementation experience with one or more common enterprise software solutions (e.g., CRM, ERP, middleware)
  • Experience demonstrating leadership by driving large organizations through digital transformations
  • Broad IT background and sound business acumen including business architecture, technical architecture, software/systems engineering, cloud computing, and the software development process (SDLC).
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple technical groups on long, complex pursuits
  • Ability to lead and influence team members, vendors, and partners to drive innovative, end-to-end technical designs
  • Ability to evangelize enterprise, business and technical architecture best practices for public sector at various levels of a large organization
  • Desire to continually study new technologies and industry trends, leveraging capabilities of existing technologies to the fullest to meet business outcomes
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; able to effectively develop materials and assets that are appropriate for given audience
  • Strong presentation skills; able to effectively present and defend point of view to a variety of audiences
  • Able to travel up to 25% (post-COVID)
