Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) delivers a suite of payments services to financial institutions via FedLine® Solutions, Fedwire®, National Settlement Service (NSS), FedCash®, FedACH®, and Check Services. Job Summary
The Platform Release Manager performs a critical role leading all aspects of the release lifecycle for a strategic Salesforce SaaS platform. This position will be responsible for defining the release process, managing the release roadmap and scheduling and managing key release milestones across multiple delivery teams. The Platform Release Manager is expected to demonstrate working knowledge of the CI/CD tools, source code management, and software development lifecycles. While this role does not involve management of direct reports, it does require strong facilitation and leadership of cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of key business capabilities to support Sales, Marketing and Customer Support for Federal Reserve Bank and Financial Services.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Coordination and Planning:
  • Manages the release plan and execution processes to drive the on-time and effective delivery of high-quality Salesforce platform releases
  • Define and implement a standardized deployment process that delivers patches, minor enhancements and major releases
  • Collaborates with internal teams to ensure the success of platform release initiatives.
  • Coordinates with product managers to plan and schedule various releases based on approved priorities and impacts.
  • Collaborates with product delivery teams to ensure deployment and testing plans are executed based on the established release schedule.
  • Communicates release plan and status to stakeholders and escalates issues as required
  • Continuously optimizes release management process and plans

Release Management:
  • Owns the overall Salesforce release process
  • Provide oversight for deployment of releases into all Salesforce environments through ensuring release readiness and adequate deployment runbooks
  • Measures and assesses the release management process against key performance indicators (e.g. number of releases/backouts, duration, percentage of automation, etc)
  • Defines and manages release readiness and success criteria based on business requirements
  • Conducts release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and feature Go/No-Go reviews
  • Validates the integrity of release notes and content and manages its distribution
  • Proactively identifies and mitigates risks and removes obstacles to release
  • Introduces automation whenever possible, optimizing efficiency and quality of code delivery

Support:
  • Chair and Facilitate Salesforce deployments included on weekends and off-hours

Your Background
  • Experience managing release processes across the entire software delivery lifecycle (e.g. development through to production)
  • Experience in the CRM domain; understanding of overall Salesforce architecture and working knowledge of Salesforce integration approaches and release management
  • Experience managing deployments across a heterogenous datacenter, cloud, and SaaS environments
  • Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and problem solving
  • Experience with change management systems and processes
  • Experience with release management tools such as Flosum or Copado
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Flosum and GitLab
  • Experience with using tools like JIRA and ServiceNow
  • Salesforce.com certification (Platform Developer or Salesforce Admin Certification) is a plus
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) highly desired
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 plus years of direct work-related experience
