SAM Senior Analyst

This role sits at the intersection of Software Asset Management (SAM), licensing compliance, and automation, focusing on optimizing software usage and cost efficiency across complex enterprise environments. You will be responsible for managing licensing for Tier 2 software publishers while ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. A key aspect of the role involves leveraging SAM tools and scripting capabilities to automate processes, analyze licensing data, and improve operational efficiency. You will work closely with IT, procurement, and vendor management teams to ensure accurate license tracking and optimized software utilization. The position requires strong analytical thinking and technical understanding of IT infrastructure, including cloud and virtualization environments. It is an impactful role where your expertise directly influences cost optimization, compliance, and enterprise software governance.

• Manage end-to-end Software Asset Management (SAM) processes, including Effective Licensing Positions (ELPs), ensuring compliance and optimization of software usage.
• Handle licensing and asset management for Tier 2 software publishers, including Finastra, Cisco, Red Hat, Splunk, Citrix, Broadcom, Automation Anywhere, and others.
• Leverage SAM tools such as ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, or Snow Software to track, analyze, and optimize software licenses.
• Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot scripts used for automation, data extraction, and license reconciliation across SAM platforms and environments.
• Analyze licensing agreements and software usage data to identify cost optimization and compliance improvement opportunities.
• Maintain strong documentation for contracts, renewals, compliance reports, and licensing positions.
• Collaborate with IT, procurement, legal, and vendor teams to support licensing strategies and negotiations.
• Ensure alignment of licensing decisions with IT infrastructure, including cloud, virtualization, and enterprise systems.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Asset Management, licensing, or related IT asset governance roles.
• Strong experience managing Tier 2 software publishers and understanding their licensing models.
• Hands-on expertise with SAM tools such as ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, or Snow Software.
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure, including cloud platforms, virtualization, and operating systems.
• Experience working with scripting for automation, including developing, customizing, and troubleshooting scripts in SAM environments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex licensing terms and optimize software usage.
• Excellent organizational skills with experience managing multiple contracts, renewals, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as IT, procurement, and legal.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in structured, global environments.
