Our Planning, Budgeting and Financial Analysis (PBFA) team supports profitable growth and improves performance through insightful, proactive and forward-looking analysis and decision support. Our PBFA team works across service lines, functions and geographies to provide EY leaders with a consistent level of exceptional client service.

The opportunity

As a Financial Analyst Supervising Associate, you'll be responsible for overseeing financial reporting and analysis function for a practice area. You'll be responsible for report generation as well as interpretation and analysis of the financial results. Firm leadership will look to you to participate in financial forecasting, and identification of business trends to make recommendations for the practice area. Your key responsibilities include

  • Delegation, guidance and performance management for team members
  • Identification of issues that may impact financial reporting accuracy
  • Providing data and interpretation of financial results, including statistical analysis, in presentation form
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve open issues
  • Assisting with preparation of annual financial plans and forecasts
  • Performing inventory reporting, including development of measurable goals and tracking to ensure goals are being met
  • Exploration of software upgrades for enhanced reporting
  • Developing and enhancing new and existing procedures to ensure efficiencies as it pertains to finance-related processes
  • Collaboration of internal projects, task forces and initiatives
  • Assistance of month-end P&L closeout

Skills and attributes for success

You'll be working as the lead analyst for a practice, so providing meaningful analysis and making appropriate recommendations to key internal and external clients is key. You'll be working with EY professionals at all levels, thus the ability to foster and maintain relationships will be essential. You'll leverage your leadership skills, excellent attention to detail and financial analysis knowledge to manage workflow and provide guidance as it pertains to financial reporting.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Experience collaborating with internal teams and professionals at all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Hyperion, Access, Essbase and Business Objects
  • Experience providing training, development and performance-related feedback
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-7 plus years of related experience

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience working in professional services
  • Experience providing training to other team members

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $69,000 to $88,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you'll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You'll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
