Interactive Brokers Group is searching for a Sanctions Due Diligence Specialist to manage sanctions-focused client due diligence, complex escalations from Sanctions Operations and other Compliance groups, and to track sanctions regulatory developments. This role will report to the Global Head of Sanctions Compliance and be part of the Global Program function within the team.

 Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a Sanctions Specialized Due Diligence program to identify and review clients posing an elevated risk to the enterprise.
  • Work with regional sanctions leads on sanctions risk posed by clients, securities products, or exchanges under their purview.
  • Keep current with all applicable developments in US sanctions, and coordinate with regional sanctions leads for other sanctions regimes IBKR is subject to locally.
  • Monitor U.S. Government signaling and other open sources to anticipate possible forthcoming sanctions so the organization can prepare.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional groups to provide resolution for escalations and complex scenarios.
  • Prepare training for targeted groups related to the impacts of regulatory developments.
 Basic Qualifications:
  • At least five years of experience in Sanctions Compliance, preferably at a large broker or financial institution with an international client base.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess complex regulations, ownership structures, and business models related to sanctions risk and identify organizational impacts.
  • Knowledge of sanctions red flags and evasion typologies
  • Some experience in other sanctions regimes, such as the EU, UK, Canada, or Australia preferred.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required, with coursework in political science, international relations, economics, or financial crime preferred.
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • CGSS, CSS, CAMS or similar certification.
  • One or more FINRA licenses, such as the Series 7 or 24 licenses, would be helpful.
  • Self-motivated and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication (Verbal and written) skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills

 

This role's anticipated base salary range is $90,000 to $110,000 annually based on skills and experience. The offered salary is just part of the total compensation package.
