About Your Team:
Interactive Brokers is looking to hire a Sanctions Operations Manager at the Chicago Office. This is a management position with room for growth for highly motivated and exceptional performers. The Sanctions Operations Manager will report to the Global Head of Sanctions and help ensure the firm complies with relevant sanctions laws and regulations.
What Will Be Your Responsibilities Within IBKR:
- Monitor Sanctions alert queues and manage team assignments based on daily workload, ensuring all Sanctions Operations work items are completed timely.
- Develop robust KRI and KPI reporting for sanctions alert review, such as alert aging, total items work per analyst, time to review each alert, and outcome distribution.
- Review and respond to complex sanctions escalations, escalating matters to the Global Head of Sanctions as needed.
- Reply to client inquiries and responses related to Sanctions outreach.
- Review accounts restricted for sanctions compliance reasons to determine if restrictions can be lifted or further escalation is required.
- Identify and support technology enhancements to screening tools and workflow.
- Develop procedures and job aids to support the Sanctions Operations processes.
- Propose and implement new Sanctions controls when regulations are released or updated.
- Keep current with all applicable US sanctions against individuals, entities, countries and securities products.
Which Skills Are Required:
- Five years of experience in sanctions/AML/fraud/financial crimes compliance, preferably at a large broker or other financial institution with an international client base. Direct sanctions compliance experience is preferred.
- Previous operations/investigations team management experience is preferred.
- A high degree of comfort with technology and a functional understanding of how technology can be applied to business and regulatory solutions.
- Ability to proactively manage the operations of a team of 5-10 analysts.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency is required.
- Outstanding leadership, operational, communication, analytical, time management and project management skills.
- Solid academic background. Bachelor’s degree or commensurate military experience.
- Ability to propose and implement compliance solutions that satisfy relevant regulations while executing sound business judgment.
- Willingness and ability to obtain financial registration exams promptly
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Global Sanctions Specialist (CGSS), CSS or similar certification, including Series 7 or 24, is highly preferred.
