Job Summary

The Sanitation Shift Leader is responsible for leading and supervising a team of sanitation technicians to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the manufacturing facility. This role will oversee sanitation operations, maintain compliance with safety and cleanliness standards, and collaborate with production and quality teams. The Sanitation Shift Leader will ensure that sanitation tasks are completed efficiently and that all team members adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

This is an onsite role in Union, SC. This role typically works a 2-2-3 rotating night shift schedule, 7pm-7:30am.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor sanitation technicians, ensuring they follow sanitation protocols and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings to communicate objectives, assign tasks, and provide feedback to team members.
  • Ensure team compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Manage the sanitation schedule, adjusting resources as necessary to meet production demands while maintaining high sanitation standards.
  • Foster a positive team environment, encouraging teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the sanitation team in cleaning and sanitizing equipment, production areas, cleanrooms, and surfaces following strict sanitation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure sanitation processes support operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Maintain records of sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, inspections, and audits.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals, ensuring safe handling, storage, and disposal.
  • Participate in audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any sanitation issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Support the development and implementation of new sanitation processes and procedures.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to improve overall plant cleanliness and sanitation protocols.
  • Provide training to sanitation technicians on new cleaning techniques and safety standards

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role on a manufacturing or sanitation team.
  • Knowledge of sanitation protocols, cleaning agents, and safety practices in cleanroom or controlled environments.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Experience in inventory management, safety compliance, and documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Able to work at heights or in confined spaces as required.
  • Must be able to wear PPE as necessary.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including OSHA and cleanroom standards, is a plus.
