CACI is seeking a Business Objects (BO) Professional Systems Engineer to join our project team at Naval Station Norfolk. You will work as an integral part of a highly productive team of seasoned technical professionals who thrive on supporting our customer's mission and objectives. You will have a key role supporting the RMF assessment process for all the customer's current in service product releases. The selected candidate for this team will be recognized as a technical authority and SME on SAP Business Objects (BO) systems administration involving data information systems and analysis, technical writing, technical analysis, technical drawings utilizing Visio incorporating information systems design and architecture when needed.

This is a hybrid (on-site + possibility of some remote work) role. This will require that you live within the local commuting distance (80 miles) to the Naval Station at Norfolk, VA.

What You Get to Do:
You will apply your advanced/expert knowledge, experience and expertise in the Business Objects (BO) Systems Engineering, Data Analysis, Testing, Evaluation, Validation and Verification of traditional and non-traditional information systems. As a significant member of this team, you will be a position of influence and leadership, working independently on Navy engineering efforts in close relations with the Systems Operations Team and Business Objects' Data Analysts developing reporting solutions. The individual should feel comfortable meeting strict standards, while remaining confidant and comfortable enough to have your work products periodically checked by other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and validity.

Foundational duties will include:
  • Install and configure new Business Objects Web and Middleware server instances as needed
  • Install / configure / update application universes and related database connections as necessary
  • Install and test Support Pack for Business Objects instances
  • Maintain and verify functionality of Business Objects Web and Middleware servers in multiple domains
  • Troubleshoot any issues identified with Business Objects server processes
  • Create and manage user accounts for Business Objects users
  • Manage and update security for public folders
  • Coordinate with Development team to upload report/universe changes via BIAR files
  • Work with Database team to troubleshoot connectivity issues to Oracle databases
  • Assist internal/external users with various issues occurring with use of Business Objects application
  • Assist in setting up auditing policies.
  • Manage events and alerts related to CMS, Audit, and Reporting Database services.
  • Manage day to day scheduled jobs from Instance Manager.
  • Handling support issues with SAP tech support.
  • Modify and document backup and restore plan of BO environments to include
  • Content Management and/or federation of newly created, user generated Production content.


Additional duties may include:
  • Analyze current applications and products
  • Provide educated suggestions for modernization of software and hardware as required.
  • Provide leadership in, and execution of, evaluation methods, practices, and techniques associated with the assessment of Navy information systems.
  • Provide expert evaluation, assessment, and recommendations for project/program policy in support of system design, acquisition, development, deployment and operations in application development and releases.


Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree from a U. S. Department of Education accredited college or university
  • 3+ year's relevant experience in:
    • Systems Engineering for Windows Server environments.
    • Managing SAP Business Objects environments.
    • VMWare vSphere and virtual machines
    • Familiarity with Server security such as POAMs, STIGs, and server certificates
    • Certifications in the above technologies would be preferred, especially in SAP Business Objects Administration
  • Understand the full SDLC of product/application development.
  • Work with an innovative team on the analysis of end-user necessities and discovery of new ways to automate processes or applications.
  • Understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Resolve helpdesk tickets utilizing ServiceNow
  • Ability to work with analysts and engineers to think logically and dynamically, while assessments for certification, authorization, approval, risk analysis and risk-based decisions (RBD).
  • Ability to think out of the box, be innovative and provide an analysis of application capabilities and limitations.

The NTCSS is the set of systems the Navy uses both ashore and afloat to handle supply chain and logistics management of ships, submarines, aviation squadrons, and intermediate maintenance activities. Installed at over 1,000 sites with 250,000 daily users, the system is essential to the smooth functioning of the Navy's supply chain. Under this contract, CACI will continue to provide full life-cycle development and engineering support for business IT systems that manage supply, finance, personnel, and administration. As CACI modernizes the legacy systems, the Navy will be able to take full advantage of new software, hardware, and technology, while reducing cyber security vulnerabilities.
