Our client, is looking for an SAP Payroll Functional Consultant (SME in SAP Canadian Payroll).

Job Title: SAP Payroll Functional Consultant (SME in SAP Canadian Payroll)

100% Remote (US or Canada)

Contract Duration: 3-6 months + extensions, open ended

SAP Payroll Functional Consultant and the need to be a SME in Canada.

They are open to this person sitting outside of the US or Canada, if they are in Canada they need to work through a Canadian corp.

• Overview
  • Looking for a Senior SAP Functional Consultant to support North America, with an emphasis on Canada payroll. This person needs to be a SME in SAP Canadian Payroll.
  • This person will be coming in to help with new project work and help with operations.
  • They will not be doing implementations from the ground up but will be going in and adding new functionalities on existing implementations.
  • They need this person to do the configurations, schema designs, and understand the business process and the country specific regulations. For example, taxation, savings, pension plans, financial postings, etc.

Job Description:

As the SAP HCM Payroll Functional Consultant specializing in Canadian SAP HCM, you will be responsible for Operation support with hands on experience and implementing Projects using SAP standard transactions (IMG). Your role will involve collaborating with business, Various vendors, and internal IT Teams for implementing various solutions . A go to person (SME) for all SAP Canadian payroll related issues. US payroll experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and payroll processes specific to Canada.
• Analyze existing payroll systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
• Configure SAP Payroll modules to meet Canadian payroll legislative requirements, including federal, provincial, and territorial regulations.
• Provide expertise in SAP Payroll schema and rules configuration to accommodate complex payroll calculations and deductions.
• Develop and execute test plans to ensure the accuracy and reliability of SAP Payroll solutions.
• Provide training and support to end-users on SAP Payroll functionality and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SAP Payroll with other SAP modules and third-party systems.
• Stay updated on changes in Canadian payroll legislation and SAP Payroll best practices to ensure compliance and optimize system performance.
• Yearend support including HRSP updates.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 15+ years of experience in SAP Payroll implementation and configuration, with a focus on the Canadian market.
• In-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, including federal and provincial tax regulations, employment standards, and reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in configuring SAP Payroll schemas, rules, and wage types to support Canadian payroll processes.
• Experience with SAP HCM modules such as Personnel Administration (PA),Benefits, Tax and Tax reporting ,Garnishment and Time Management (TM) is a Must.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex payroll issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams.
• SAP Payroll certification is preferred.
