SAP Project Manager

Job Description:

General Purpose of Position:

SAP Project Manager who has done at least one full life cycle implementation on S/4HANA and at least 3 full lifecycle implementations on ECC. The SAP Project Manager is responsible for the overall management of a project throughout its lifecycle. She/he must have the qualifications and business acumen to manage large-scale, high-risk, strategic projects, and portfolios, that involve multiple business units and partners and cross-organizational boundaries. They provide leadership to cross-functional teams responsible for delivering defined project outputs to time, budget, and project quality criteria. Be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring good judgment, flexibility, and a hands-on approach. Should be comfortable in interacting with and influencing all levels of the organization. Must be able to contribute to the evolution and delivery of our delivery frameworks.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of SAP Project life cycle to facilitate successful delivery of projects and programs
• Develop and oversee detailed project plans, metrics, work plans, schedules, resource plans, and status reports.
• Assess complex situations and identify viable solutions that create successful outcomes
• Manage relationships with all project stakeholders, including internal and external clients, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and issues in order to manage expectations on all project requirements and deliverables
• Ensure proper use of methodology, tools, and procedures
• Provide project leadership, direct work, and provide status to all key stakeholders
• Identify project risks and develops risk mitigation plans.
• Manage the financial aspects of the project: budgeting, estimate to actual variance, and forecasting
• Manage and communicate a clear vision of the project's objectives, and motivate the project team to achieve them. Create a project environment that enables peak performance by team members
• Manage the financial aspects of the project: budgeting and estimate to actual variance. Ensure quality forecasting is conducted to understand the accurate financial position
• Contribute to the knowledge base of the SAP Practice

Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP project/program manager.
• Experience and knowledge of Activate and ASAP Methodologies
• Experience in leading S4/HANA greenfield and conversion projects
• Expertise in project deliverables such as project charter, project management plan, status reports, project timesheets, communications plan, budget, and schedule.
• Demonstrated experience in managing risks & issues, scope, and quality while bringing projects to successful completion within the cost and time requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and lead globally dispersed teams
• Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable in communicating and presenting to VP and C level executives
• A passion for project management and ability to work in different methodologies, and determine creative solutions for improved collaboration and continuous improvement

Education and or Training

• Undergraduate degree required in math, computer science, engineering, or related discipline with an information technology focus (preferred).
• PMP and SAP ACTIVATE certification
• Primarily Remote but require travel to client site after COVID situation improves. Normally, travel is around 20% of the time.
