Job Description
Our client is seeking SAP Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of key Information Technology projects and manage overall portfolio execution.
Location: Houston, Downtown- Should be able to work onsite.
Contract Duration -1 year plus.
Industry : Oil and Gas

In this position, you will be a central part of the IT organization, driving continual improvement for our project management processes.
In this role you will be responsible for critical projects including facility builds, cloud development, and datacenter upgrades. You will be driving critical initiatives within the portfolio, coordinating with key stakeholders to manage cost, schedule and risk.
Primary Responsibilities and Actions
- Accountable for delivering all aspects of IT Projects, primarily focused on SAP HANA Implementation & future initiatives
- Lead and deliver key project initiatives within the constraints of scope, quality, time and budget while tracking risk and resource allocation.
- Manage and maintain the IT Project Portfolio and maintain PMO reports for executive management.
- Oversee the execution of program projects, their progress compared with the plan and the production of agreed deliverables.
- Work with stakeholders for project intake demand - assessing and building charters and costs for new initiatives.
- Build, maintain and track projects with associated scopes, schedules, budgets and risk.
- Tracks cost/spend across portfolio, capturing, categorizing and identifying resolution of project issues, and coordination with stakeholders.
- Improves IT PMO processes, templates, and overall maturity of organization.
- Partner with the executive sponsor to communicate program goals, objectives and potential outcomes.
- Lead regular interactions with the executive sponsor to inform, alert, negotiate and maintain a continuing good relationship and shared vision for the program outcome.
- Direct the creation and maintenance of the required program documentation and artifacts.
- Ensure and balance the availability of the required skills and competencies across project teams within the program.
- Lead the development and maintenance of stakeholder mapping, communications and reporting.
- Monitor and coordinate dependencies across rejects in the program and resolve conflicts.
- Build reporting and dashboards to show project health across various project verticals.
- Deliver roll up reports, updates, and dashboards and manage weekly updates for project and program level reports.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in IT project/portfolio management
- Experience implementing SAP HANA (S4-2021)
- Deep understanding of current and emerging IT technologies
- Core understanding of resource management and allocation
- Ability to develop project/programs and deliver them within financial and resource constraints
- Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and execution skills
- Knowledge on how other organizations can use current and emerging technologies to drive digital business
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project,
- Comfortable with pivots and macros and dashboard visualizations
- Solid organizational skills and solid understanding of project management processes
- Experience with at least one project/program management methodology, such as:
- The Project Management Institute's (PMI's) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
- Agile/Scrum
- Preferably PMI certified / trained (PMP)
- Strong project/portfolio management skills
- Demonstrated experience leading projects within the Information Technology Portfolio
- Strong skills in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
