The Senior Architect RTR (Record to Report) Architect will function as a key leader of the functional center of excellence as new technologies emerge and existing systems evolve to better serve Valmont's internal and external stakeholders. The key responsibility will be to help Valmont improve operational efficiency, maintain balance sheet integrity, cut time to close and safeguard compliance and regulatory requirements. Candidate will be responsible for defining and designing best in class processes for our Digital business platform on SAP S/4HANA, perform feasibility analysis and manage a team of record to report analysts.

Essential Functions:

  • This position reports into the Integration Director and will have direct reports
  • This role requires up to 25 to 50% travel (internationally/domestically), including overnight stays
  • Partner with business to analyze and solve complex financial problems
  • Drive new solutions, leveraging and, where needed, adapting existing methods and procedures
  • Understand and align with the strategic direction set by executives, clearly communicate team goals, deliverables, and keep the team updated on change
  • Coordinate process improvement discussions with business leaders
  • Interact with peers and/or management levels to define functional strategies
  • Collaborate with the Global Value Stream Owners and Solution Design Leads as they support RTR rollout and assess localization requirements of the ERP solution to in-scope business units
  • Support timely decision-making and manage escalations for financial decisions
  • Actively engage and educate business process owners on solution optimization, simplification, and standardization capabilities
  • Coordinate set up of functional center of excellence around RTR
  • Collaborate with relevant scrum, delivery, deployment, and project leadership teams to implement and deploy agile methodology
  • Work closely and collaborate with onshore and offshore scrum team members to ensure a prioritized and sufficient product backlog for the team
  • Participate in key Sprint planning, retrospectives, and other key ceremonies for global initiatives across technology platforms
  • Along with scrum team identify, monitor, and implement key agreed-upon improvements
  • Act as the IT Solution Architect for the implementation of SAP Finance Projects
  • Lead and /or participate in a team with other IT Solution Architect Analysts and Business Users
  • Developed & Designed WRICEF inventory, and worked on inbound/outbound interfaces and its functionalities
  • Expertise in multiple rollouts

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Preferred Bachelor's with 7+ years of relevant experience or Associate's degree with 9+ years of relevant experience or 11+ years of relevant experience
  • Seven years of experience configuring, deploying, and managing ERP projects across RTR
  • Previous leadership role on ERP implementations
  • Accomplished Senior SAP FICO consultant with proven ability in S/4 HANA - RTR. Successful in Project Integration of varying sizes and delivering projects within client expectations, on time and within budget through improved productivity, performance, and cost control.
  • Cross-functional team leadership competencies span the entire SAP Business development, project delivery lifecycle, from initiation through product development and launch - from Conception, blueprint, realization to go-live and support. Managed large, complex projects, pulling distributed teams together to focus on execution and delivery.
  • SAP Experience
  • S/4 HANA Finance good working knowledge of end-to-end business processes
  • SAP FICO certified and multi-year global SAP Project implementation and management experience
  • Implementation experiences in North America, EMEA and APAC
  • Strong technical knowledge in FI Module such as General Ledger Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank Accounting
  • Worked as a Lead Role and successfully completed 6 SAP full life cycle implementations and multiple Rollout projects in SAP FI/CO module.
  • Worked on different phases of ACTIVATE methodology implementation from Business Requirement, Gap Analysis, Blueprint Design, Configuration and Testing
  • In depth understanding of Business Process relating to SAP Finance, Controlling and integration with SD & MM modules
  • Strong configuration experience in General Ledger (GL), New GL, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), Cost Centre Accounting (CCA), Project Systems (PS), and Internal Order (IO)
  • Knowledge on New GL concepts
  • Strong presenter, facilitator, trainer, and communicator building consensus with teams, stakeholders, executives, vendors, and clients
  • Experience in Discrete Manufacturing
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Strong influencing, facilitating, and consulting skills in working with stakeholders at all levels in the organization and across departments

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA 1809 or above
  • Strong understanding of Fixed Assets, Controlling, General Ledger, Month end closing, etc.

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Extensive travel may be required to sites within the U. S. and possible international travel. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
