SAP SD Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Ascend SAP SD Specialist will be responsible for the design, implementation, and production support of the Sales & Distribution processes in our SAP environment. The position will work with business clients to design and implement global solutions using standard SAP as well as other systems interfaced with SAP to support the business processes. The successful candidate will possess a strong combination of analytical and technical skills and will include working in a project lead role on small to medium-sized projects.

TARGETED OUTCOMES

• Develop trusted partnership with the supply chain, logistics and commercial finance organization leadership and resources
• Provide support within SLA guidelines (or better)
• Complete a knowledge transfer on internal processes and solutions supported by Sales & Distribution functions
• Collaborate with Application Management Support vendor who provides additional SAP support
• Become knowledgeable in the PriceFX solution and integration to SAP

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide expert support for SAP Sales and Distribution (SD)
  • Organizational configuration
  • Order Management configuration and processing
  • Pricing configuration and processing
  • Invoicing configuration and processing
  • Intercompany invoicing for cross company and STO
  • Rebate Agreement configuration and processing
• Provide expert support for SAP Logistics Execution (LE)
  • Delivery configuration and processing
  • Transportation/Shipment configuration and processing
  • Shipment cost document configuration and processing
• EDI Integration to external Transportation Management Systems
• EDI integration to other parties/systems related to a complete end to end order to cash scenario
• Facilitate thoughtful design discussions to meet business needs using best practices and SAP product capabilities
• Proactively address continuous improvement requests and drive them to completion
• Demonstrate the ability to independently gather business requirements to design and implement technical solutions, either alone or by coordinating with other IT and business resources
• Consistently demonstrate initiative to acquire and utilize new technical skills within job function
• Consistently achieve target dates for assigned tasks aiding in on budget delivery of the project
• Consulting with ABAP developers and provide technical specifications to develop RICEF solutions
• Use Ascend project management practices and tools to provide tracking information
• Manage unit testing of changes in development and testing environments, including regression testing of functionality that may be impacted by new changes
• Provide support for other activities that impact the system, such as configuration changes to support changing business conditions, SAP ECC upgrades, projects, etc.
• Providing ad hoc training and consulting to business users as required
• Maintain system reliability as defined by service level agreements
• Successful delivery of IT enhancements and project demands with anticipated results
• Utilization of Ascend methodology to ensures development lifecycle and controls processes are followed

TEAM

• Reports to IT ERP Manager
• Team Members: 2 additional ERP Specialists

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or other related area
• Minimum of 8+ years' experience in SAP with experience in a functional consultant role with at least 3 global implementations
• Knowledge and experience with ABAP programming is a strong plus
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA is a strong plus

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Demonstrated proficiency in the SD modules with analysis and design of business applications
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to relate technical ideas and functionality to non-technical users
• Self-motivated work ethic, keen attention to detail and exceptional customer service orientation
• Strong analytical skills; ability to perform complex system analysis and draw conclusions by relating information from different sources, including root-cause analysis and issue resolution
• Understanding of integration to other SAP modules: MM, FI, PA, APO is a strong plus
