Responsible for overall origination of SBA-guaranteed loans by leading a team of Business Development Officers (BDOs) and Sales Assistants. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Provide BDO's with guidance and mentorship in order to achieve sales goals.

• Provide guidance on various matters such as sales, marketing, and loan structuring

• Provide oversight and direction to BDOs and Sales Assistants in accordance with the Bank's policies and procedures

• Drive loan growth for the department by identifying business development opportunities in profitable, growth-oriented industries and markets

• Assist BDO's with loan structuring, financial analysis, and loan-committee presentation

• Guide BDO's on using appropriate analysis and judgement in their recommendations to underwriting

• Monitor and assist BDO's with their navigation of internal processes

• Ensure consistent and successful implementation of division initiatives

• Work closely with senior management to determine overall goals, product needs, and staffing requirements

• Assist in establishing new client and referral source relationships

• Direct BDO activities that target good-quality loan opportunities

• Keep abreast of changes to our loan program, and communicate these to BDOs

• Keep abreast of the bank's credit policy changes, and communicate these to BDOs

• Collaborate with marketing to develop and maintain promotional material

• Oversee BDO performance management

• Assist with staffing issues (e.g. recruiting, interviewing, and terminating)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Proficient in commercial credit analysis

• Expertise in SBA policies and procedures

• Proven ability to think strategically and understand the big picture

• Possess high degree of ownership and accountability

• Ability to influence and maneuver through appropriate formal and informal organization channels

• Ability to constructively manage and handle conflict

• Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, products, and services

Industry and Work Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in SBA Lending

Academic:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
