Opportunity Overview: We're seeking a skilledScenery Carpenterbased inChicagoto support a range of live events, theatrical productions, and experiential installations. You’ll work closely with production teams to build and install scenic elements that bring creative visions to life. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments and takes pride in precise, safe, and professional scenic construction. Key Responsibilities • Interpret scenic construction drawings and build scenic elements to spec. • Construct set pieces using wood, metal, and composite materials. • Operate standard carpentry tools, power saws, drills, and other equipment safely. • Assist with load-ins, on-site assembly, and strike/tear-down of sets. • Ensure all builds are structurally sound and meet safety guidelines. • Work efficiently under time constraints while maintaining quality. Requirements • Prior experience as a scenery carpenter for live events, theater, or exhibitions. • Strong working knowledge of carpentry tools and scenic materials. • Ability to read and follow technical drawings and construction plans. • Physically fit and capable of lifting, moving, and assembling heavy items. • Punctual, reliable, and able to work both independently and within a team. • Based in or willing to commute to Chicago, IL. • Own basic tools and PPE (preferred but not mandatory). Preferred Qualifications • Experience in scenic painting, rigging, or CNC woodworking. • OSHA 10/30 certification or equivalent safety training. • Valid driver’s license and/or access to a vehicle.
