Job Summary
While working virtually with department representatives, participates in a structured learning experience. Performs a variety of administrative tasks and works on various projects.
During this eight-week employment opportunity intern will work in a hybrid (in-person and/or virtual) experience, interact with student participants from the Louis Stokes and Science virtual summer experience and work to support the Youth Strategies staff. Focus will be to provide administrative support for the summer internship experience, support participating students (orientation, student workshop sessions, and culminating experience), facilitate weekly mentor/student check-in calls/producer for video chats (information documented using Formstack), in-person visits, provide support to students/mentors to ensure the completion of project assignments/work, provide additional technology support to students/mentors when needed.
Program Requirements:• Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.• Current college enrollment required at the time of application with focus on a degree in Business Administration, Education, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Public Health, Sciences, Social Work or Sociology.• Have a current cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.• Will be required to comply with the COVID-19 vaccine program or have an exemption • Be a U.S. Citizen, non-citizen national, or legal permanent resident.• Demonstrate a strong interest in non-clinical, business focused areas of health care or in the sciences and an expressed interest in a healthcare career, clinical or non-clinical.
Under the direction of their assigned supervisor (mentor), participates in a structured virtual paid learning experience. Will perform a variety of administrative tasks, support functioning of student activities, facilitate student/mentor interactions, monitor project work of students, provide technology assistance as needed and assist on a variety of projects.

Job Responsibilities:
- Researches, compiles, tabulates, and analyzes data and processes for a variety of administrative and departmental matters.
- Assists department personnel in assigned administrative, planning, organizational, technical, and professional tasks.
- Provides suggestions or recommendations with regard to department specific projects.
- Prepares and presents reports; drafts policies and procedures; responds to requests for information.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Current college enrollment required.
Certifications:
- None required.

- Can discuss and weigh pros and cons and separate critical issues.
- Can make definitive choices, expresses opinions on issues and can explain logical path decisions.

Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of body motion including handling/lifting items, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires frequent standing and sitting.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
