At MOMA Therapeutics we are discovering the next generation of medicines that target Molecular Machines. These are proteins that catalyze complex cellular functions by undergoing dynamic conformational changes. Using structural biology, protein engineering, biochemical/cellular tools and next-gen screening platforms, we are identifying small molecules that put the brakes on these “moving targets”.

In this role you will…

• Use your knowledge of biochemistry and molecular and cellular biology to explore the function of molecular machines in cancer.
• Employ many biological techniques (IP/Western blot, CRISPR editing, flow cytometry, gene expression analysis, cell growth and reporter assays, cell engineering) to understand a compound’s mechanism of action.
• Establish and validate cellular assays to measure target engagement, pathway modulation and sensitivity to target inhibition.
• Extend and diversify internal capabilities through interaction with and management of CRO partners.
• Collaborate extensively within and across groups and regularly present research to an integrated project team.

Requirements

• • BS/MS in molecular biology, cell biology, oncology or related discipline with 2-4 years of relevant research experience; or a PhD in the above areas
  • A passion for designing and executing lab experiments that will generate impactful data and definitively test scientific hypotheses
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to be a team player who listens effectively and invites feedback and discussion
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced environment characterized by rigorous science and innovative thinking
