Job Description
Capstan Therapeutics, Inc. is a privately held biotechnology company dedicated to advancing in vivo cell reprogramming. The core platform technology comprises proprietary targeted lipid nanoparticles (tLNPs) that are composed of LNPs conjugated with a recombinant protein binder, such as a monoclonal antibody. tLNPs are designed to deliver payloads, including mRNA or gene editing tools, capable of reprogramming specific cell types in vivo. The platform technology has the potential to generate transformative therapies with possible applications across a broad range of disease areas, including oncology, autoimmune disorders, fibrosis, and monogenic blood disorders.
The Opportunity
We are currently hiring a highly motivated Scientist II/Senior Scientist in Analytical Operations (AMD). In this role, you will be responsible for the analytical method development (AMD). The individual will play a critical role in establishing the analytical methods and control strategy, and conducting both routine and non-routine analytical testing in support of preclinical and clinical development.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop analytical methods that robustly characterize the nucleic acid payloads and bioactivity of our mRNA-based lipid nanoparticle (LNP) drug products
- Design, execute both routine and non-routine analytical analyses, and document analytical method development activities in support of process development, stability, and product characterization
- Follow and ensure standard operating procedures, analytical test methods, and analytical sampling plans meet the highest industry standard
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to assure robust method development, transfer, and execution in GXP settings
- Mentor and train members of the analytical development team
- Author, review, and approve supporting reports and protocols
Requirements/Qualifications:
- B.S./M.S./Ph.D. or equivalent in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering or related field with 2-5 years of industry experience
- Prior experience with characterization and release/stability testing of formulated nucleic acids in lipid nanoparticles (LNP) preferred; experience with mRNA LNPs is highly valued
- Hands-on experience with various techniques such as qPCR, ddPCR, Sanger sequencing/NGS, ELISA, flow cytometry, and cell-based assays.
- Experience preparing technical documents for internal distribution and CMC regulatory filings is a plus
- Demonstrated ability in working with highly skilled teams in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, and technical setting
Salary & Benefits Offerings:
- Salary range is $130,000 - $160,000/year depending on experience
