Screenwriter - Romance (Mandarin)

Job Title: Screenwriter (Romance Genre)

6 Months Contract to Hire 

Location: Canada (Remote anywhere in Canada)

Salary - $80k + Benefits 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comfortable writing young adult romance/drama, which may include sensitive content.
Bilingual - Fluent in English and Mandarin - "Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred as the successful candidate will be required to communicate with business partners in China."

• Minimum of 5 years of screenwriting experience. Experience leading or mentoring a team of writers is a plus.
• Strong creative screenwriting skills, particularly in romance and drama.
• Bachelor’s degree in History, English, Fine Arts, Screenwriting, or a related field.
• Comfortable writing young adult romance/drama, which may include sensitive and triggering content.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong interest in reading novels.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the online reading or publishing industry, both historical and current.
• Passion for content creation and prior experience in the field is a plus.
• Ability to work well under pressure and possess strong interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work across different time zones.
• Eagerness to learn and gain experience in the gaming and content industry. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
