Scrum Lead II
Job Description
The Scrum Lead role is a key member of the CDT organization. Working one or more Product Owners, Scrum Leads lead, organize and empower Agile teams in their journey of continuous improvement as they deliver fantastic products and features for Columbia Sportswear Company customers. Successful candidates should have demonstrable knowledge of Agile Ceremonies and Practices. Candidates must also have experience coaching and leading Agile teams using Scrum and Kanban.
The largest part of the Scrum Lead job is the people. Communication skills are key as is organizing, leading and listening. It is not about the ceremonies - but it is. It is about the values, principals, and spirit of Agile that make it worthwhile.

- Ceremonies and Delivery: For one or more teams working on moderately complex to complex deliverables. Schedules, facilitates and reports agreed upon scrum ceremonies, including Refinement, Sprint Planning, Stand Ups, Demos, Sprint or PI Reviews, and Retrospectives. Assist Product Owner(s) with backlog management. Facilitate story estimation and feature development through encouraging small, iterative work, and value delivery. Facilitate the team in successful completion of agreed upon commitments through communication including rapid impediment identification and removal or escalation.
- Tracking/Reporting: Uses in tool reporting as a tool to assist in inspecting and adapting with the team sprint over sprint. Introduces new metrics and analysis to the team to continuously improve performance and delivery.
- Agile Practices: Supports one or more agile teams with implementing effective agile disciplinary practices. Encourages adoption of additional ceremonies to improve adherence to agile practices using inspect and adapt approach with the team. Coach the team to influence adherence and improvement of agile rituals and practices. Ensures team process evolves within organizational guidelines and standards of practice. Uphold, defend, coach and mentor agile values and principles.
- Coaching and Culture: Encourages team cohesion, empowerment, and ownership of commitments. Encourage, support, and guide continuous improvement of the team, its products, and processes. Explains and simplifies complex information to others; leads the coordination of information to ensure ongoing process or program execution. Good listener who creates a culture of unity, ownership, and empowerment enabling the team to improve their process while working on critical deliveries.

YOU HAVE
- Degree: Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Experience: 2-4 years Scrum Master experience
- Certification: Scrum Master Certification Required
- SDLC: 2+ years experience with one or more methods of software development lifecycles
