Job Description
We are seeking a Scrum Master to support our Fortune 100 financial services client’s Marketing Operations team. The individual will play a vital role in leading scrum teams to leverage Agile methodology and scrum best practices within the organization’s MarTech division.
In this role, you will be accountable for leading, mentoring, and coaching cross-functional Agile development teams in the planning and execution of successful projects.
The Details:
- Location: Remote (Chicago area preferred)
- Duration: 6 to 12-month contract with possible conversion to hire

What you’ll do:
- Plan, execute, and oversee technical project operations while continuously identifying and implementing strategies to improve operational efficiencies and accuracy.
- Conduct scrum ceremonies, communicate with stakeholders, and coordinate project efforts across multiple teams.
- Participate in and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings.
- Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress. Maintain process documentation.
- Ensure that development teams are practicing the core Agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility. Update Agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs.
- Recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practices. Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
- Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.
- Identify and remove impediments and prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal.
- Participate in the organization and planning of the development schedule based on methodology that creates a cohesive plan with identifiable critical path, task dependencies, and major milestones, and manages the agreed project plans and schedules, ensuring successful completion within scope, budget, time, and quality parameters.
- Adapt project plans, schedules, and resource assignments as required throughout pilot projects to respond to emerging requirements and risks.
Qualifications
What you have:
- 5+ years of experience leading complex technical projects
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing Agile methodologies.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex operations teams.
- Extensive experience in facilitating effective communication between cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Proficiencies:
- Deep understanding of Agile principles and frameworks, with a focus on Scrum practices.
- Proficient in sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Skilled in fostering self-organizing teams and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, ensuring smooth team dynamics and efficient delivery.
- Excellent ability to track project progress, identify risks, and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
Working Knowledge:
- Solid technical background in an operations environment, enabling effective communication between several teams, and understanding their challenges.
- Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Rally
- Understanding of relevant industry standards and best practices, ensuring compliance and high-quality deliverables.
Additional Information
The starting pay range for this role is $60.00 - $65.00 per hour. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, training, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range and determining factors for compensation are considered for each individual circumstance.
