Scrum Master

Amentum is currently seeking a Scrum Master to support an IT Managed Services program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations, for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems.

You will to partner with Product Owners and development teams to ensure continuous refinement of backlog, communicating delivery of work product from the development team, reviewing team practices, enabling efficient team on-boarding, monitoring team health, and escalating key risks and issues.

As a member of the team, you will:

• Provide Scrum expertise for high performing software development teams.
• Empower the team to improve effectiveness and meet product delivery deadlines by identifying and addressing impediments affecting the efficiency of the team.
• Guide and mentor teams through efficient self-organization to improve the adoption of the Scrum framework, grow team practices, and improve team health.
• Identify and evolve creative techniques and processes to enable the Scrum framework to further improve the efficiency of the development team.
• Hold productive daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and planning sessions.
• Own the team's effectiveness.
• Contribute as part of the ScrumMaster team to identify and improve the systemic issues facing all the teams being supported.
• Communicate effectively with managers and other stakeholders to address impediments.
• Improve the teams' definition of done to include software development practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Pair Programming (PP)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience OR an Associate's degree and 6 years of experience OR a High School degree/GED and 9 years of experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q Clearance.
• Experience working as a ScrumMaster for technical software development teams.
• Experience in project management or applying Agile principles.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Certified ScrumMaster or Certified Scrum Professional
• Strong communication and teaming skills/experience
• Experience with software development projects and lifecycles

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of software development languages (Python, Java, C++)
• Knowledge of DevOps infrastructure
• Strong desire to continue training in Agile principles.
• Interest in and ability to understand a variety of technical fields (modeling, simulation, high performance computing, visualization, data analysis, and engineering analysis)
• Superb communication, teamwork, and people skills with the ability to perform optimally in a teaming environment.
• Critical thinking, synthesis, and problem-solving skills
• Dedication to Agile principles and practices, particularly for software
• Knowledge of Clean Code practices and principles such as test-driven development and pair programming
• Ability to prioritize, lead, and complete projects within appropriate scope and timeframe.
• Experience with various support tools such as Jira, Confluence, Teams, etc.
