Who we need:

We seek a passionate Scrum Master to partner with our product teams to coach on agile processes for our Enterprise Solutions Custom Applications group.

As a Scrum Master, you will serve as servant leader on two agile teams. You will work to foster relationships with the development team and stakeholders, build consensus through collaboration, and identify and communicate risks to product development. You are a critical thinker who uses problem solving skills and Agile principles to partner with product owners, technical experts, and the development team to build effective solutions. You possess an expert knowledge and understanding of agile delivery methodologies and SDLC.

Work You'll Do:

  • Help Scrum Team learn and apply the Scrum Framework
    • Guide your team in following Scrum best practices
    • Help the team agree on what they can achieve during a sprint
    • Help teams implement changes effectively
    • Ensure PBIs meet definition of done before being marked done
  • Manage multi-sprint planning to achieve milestones
    • Communicate team calendar
    • Coach scope negotiation
  • Facilitate Scrum Ceremonies
    • Ensuring ceremonies are held
    • Drive consensus through collaboration
  • Proactively remove impediments that hinder the team from reaching their goals
    • Enable the team to rapidly respond to changes
  • Help the teams have fun
    • Team Building activities
    • Foster psychological safety
  • Monitor and Improve Team Maturity
  • Coach the team
    • Introduce information radiators to the team
    • Guide and teach systems thinking and servant leadership
    • Regularly meet with and address challenges with POs
    • Assist in aligning teams with the product vision and sprint goals
    • Maintenance of product backlog and defining priority
    • Regularly meet with your team members individually (biweekly)
      • Build relationships
      • Address concerns early
      • Teach and mentor the team members
      • Make sure processes are working for the team
  • Communicate at All Levels
    • Facilitate communication across all levels: between individual team members, PO, between teams and management
    • Consult and/or Inform Management of progress and challenges
    • Communicate organizational impediments to leadership
    • Create transparency in Product Work Items
    • Provide periodic team performance reporting across scope and timeline
  • Protect the team
    • Communicate early and often
    • Be their agile champion
    • Educate and help stakeholders learn / navigate scrum

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of leading teams in agile/scrum methodologies as a dedicated Scrum Master
  • Proven experience increasing scrum team maturity
  • Deep understanding of scrum; experience in other Agile frameworks
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Process improvement skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively propose solutions
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrated attention to detail, excellent time management and organizational skills
  • 5 years of experience in agile software development, software testing, process improvement, project delivery, business/requirements analysis
  • Scrum Master Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with virtual facilitation
  • Experience in Kanban
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence people at various levels
  • Ability to leverage skills from coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution and more to serve the teams
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and drive business decisions and make appropriate trade-off decisions.
  • Previous roles in development, testing, or business analysis
  • Understanding of release management
  • Advanced understanding of Change Management practices

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a technical field.
