Job Description
We are looking for a Scrum Master to join our technology team at CraftJack to help us build great products. We will look to you as an important member of our small team as we tackle important challenges to keep our technology ahead of the curve. About the team:
We are a small team of experienced Engineers (Software, QA, and DevOps) and are looking for someone with expertise in how we can better support our business through software craftsmanship. CraftJack is growing and we want to tackle problems before they happen and invest in our future. A great fit for this role is someone who can guide the team to continuous improvement and effectiveness. They would also be expected to clear obstacles, address team dynamics, and protect the team from outside interruptions.
Who you are:
- 3+ years of leading Agile teams as a Scrum Master.
- Leading from a position of influence and a strong understanding of servant-leadership.
- Ability to facilitate the traditional agile activities and ceremonies while keeping them positive, productive, and time-boxed.
- Working closely with Product to manage the backlog.
- Effectively manage user story estimation, forecasting, and report on team performance.
- Champion and facilitate adoption of agile standards, tools, and best practices.
- Proactively identify and resolve impediments to team progress.
- Communicate with leaders across the organization to ensure transparency into delivery progress, challenges, and risks.
- Utilize team feedback to identify areas of opportunity and work with the team to continuously improve.
- Coach the team to improve collaboration and self-management, promoting healthy interactions both within the team and with external stakeholders.
- Someone with strong coaching, communication, and analytical skills with ability to motivate teams.
- Working with stakeholders to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner.

Where is the office?
We are a fully remote company but also understand the importance of having a space to collaborate when necessary. We have a space in the Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago that can accommodate about half of the company. We have a quarterly get-together where everyone comes to Chicago so we can meet in person and get to know one another. We have a take-as-you-need vacation policy because we know how important it is for everyone to be refreshed when they come to work.
Compensation & Benefits
- The salary band for this position $85,000 - $105,000 with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as cost of living.
- This position will be eligible for a competitive year end performance bonus & equity package.
