Scrum Master

• Ensures the self-organizing teams live Agile values and principles and follow the processes and practices that the team agreed they would use
• Responsible for ensuring a good relationship between the team and business and key stakeholders
• Clears obstacles, secures resources identified by team, and helps team avoid interruption

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinates Mobilization Working Agreement and Mobilization setup
• Facilitates Agile Coach in mobilizing new teams
• Facilitates teams in creating team working agreements/norms
• Trains Product Owners to create backlog items in the Agile working tool of choice
• Facilitates Team in creating the Product Roadmap
• Participate in Agile Fit assessments and Mobilization Working Agreement sessions with project/initiative leadership
• Communicate Ameren Agile success
• Coach 1 to 3 teams depending on team and product maturity
• Facilitates team members in Agile scrum settings
• Participates in working groups to help define to-be processes
• Helps build story of how team drives business priorities
• Shares team successes with the Digital organization and the business areas the team impacts
• Facilitates Team Demos (Sprint/Release)
• Facilitates Transparency
• Ensures governance is followed to allow Agile metrics to be successfully applied
• Coaches less experienced co-workers and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge and work performance
• Mentors less experienced co-workers
• Mentors team members and stakeholders on Agile best practices and application of Agile scrum at Ameren

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• 2+ years experience performing in multiple Agile roles
• Will consider candidates without a degree if they have shown/demonstrated 4+ years equivalent, relevant experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile scrum environment
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of and background with Agile concepts
• Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Project Management Institute Agile Certified Professional (PMI ACP), or other leading Agile certification is preferred

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Working Agile knowledge and skills (for Agile-specific roles) including:
  • Knowledge of Agile (Jira, Rally, ServiceNow, etc.) tools
  • Scrum meeting facilitation
  • Software development methodologies
  • Understanding of how to help Agile teams iterate and develop next Minimum Viable Products (MVP)
