Title:
Scrum Master - (Top Secret)

A highly motivated release train engineer /Scrum Master (RTE) is needed on KBR's National Technologies Group which supports USAF TENCAP in its mission to exploit National space, cyber, and intelligence capabilities to deliver rapid, cost-dominant and innovative warfighting solutions across the full spectrum of Air Force and Joint military missions.

As the RTE on the KBR - AFTENCAP Development Team you will be a critical member in the research, design, prototyping, and development of advanced classified systems, by ensuring
  • That Agile practices and techniques are employed to deliver incremental [program] value in the form of working software and systems.
  • A clear vision, and a passion for timely delivery of high-quality code, across a high-performing multi-discipline, enterprise cloud engineering team is established and maintained.
  • The monitoring of success indicators and conformance to product roadmap are communicated.
  • The fostering of an environment that facilitates positive team health as well as provide guidance and management to all workers to ensure goals are met.


The top candidate will be skilled at not only ensuring timely and quality delivery of code but also be detail oriented, with a passion for excellence of themselves, and their fellow team members.

What You'll get to Do:
  • Create plans for the implementation and deployment of software releases according to project deliverables, requirements, and budget.
  • Employ, and lead the development team using Agile practices and techniques.
  • Lead the development teams in: self-organization, conflict resolution, risk management, removal of impediments and escalate when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders, including: customer, vendors, project manager, systems & architectural engineers, data scientists, and end-users.
  • Arrange customer and stakeholders meetings to meet project objectives.
  • Align software release planning to project execution i.e. Cost, Schedule, Performance.
  • Schedule software product reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release.
  • Support the customer and development team to achieve business value. Assist in the alignment of software deliveries to product roadmaps.
  • Identify software and program risks and assist in their management.
  • Communicate project-related tasks such as plans, timelines, requirements, etc. between different teams.
  • Assist the development teams to identify and improvements in the development framework. Always work to improve the release process.
  • Track the progress of planned releases, and infrastructure updates; and discover issues, if any of defect backlogs.
  • Design and implement Key Performance Indicators; drive towards data driven decisioning.
  • Maintain documentation related to above.
  • Coach and mentor junior members.
  • Exercise latitude and judgement in devising and meeting organizational goals and intent.


Required Prerequisites:
  • Security Clearance: DoD Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Level Clearance
  • Education: Technical major in any engineering, mathematics, and/or applied sciences discipline
    • Associate's degree and ≥6 years direct experience.
    • Bachelor's degree and ≥3 years direct experience.
    • Master's and ≥2 years direct experience.
  • Experience
    • Leading a scrum team within the SAFe or Agile construct
    • Scrum Master, Product Owner, or other Agile leadership role Experience in Agile Methodologies
    • System engineering fundamentals and knowledge areas, including: verification and validation; SW Development and Verification cycles would be beneficial. requirements engineering; modeling; design
  • Skills
    • Ability to analyze and think critically, when triaging team issues based on priority, impact, risk, release timing; resolve conflict.
    • Able to determine and delineate between, priorities for themselves as well as the priorities for the team.
    • Articulate, with sound oral and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
    • Team oriented, self-starter who exercises initiative in the absence of direction.
    • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.

Desired Skills:
  • Solid understanding of cloud engineering solutions and services
  • Certification(s) in: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
  • Experience in US electronic (signals, imagery, signatures) intelligence
  • Experience in Unified or Systems Modeling Languages
  • Experience in Department of Defense Architecture Framework
  • Working knowledge of software project management tools such as Atlassian stack, Microsoft Project


Other:
  • This position requires frequent onsite presence within a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) workspace-exclusive remote (tele)work not possible.
  • Quarterly travel for a few days may be required.


Compensation:

Salary range (gross annual): $104,600-$160,000
