SD WAN Engineer

Summary:

• We are looking for an SD-WAN Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, particularly in SD-WAN technologies, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of network services that meet business requirements.
• This is for a short term / hourly based project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain SD-WAN solutions to support the organization's network infrastructure.
• Evaluate and recommend SD-WAN technologies and vendors to meet business needs and objectives.
• Collaborate with network architects and other stakeholders to design scalable and resilient SD-WAN architectures.
• Configure and optimize SD-WAN policies, routing protocols, and quality of service (QoS) parameters.
• Monitor SD-WAN performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Implement security measures to protect SD-WAN infrastructure from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
• Provide technical expertise and support for SD-WAN-related projects and initiatives.
• Document SD-WAN configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and future reference.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to SD-WAN and networking.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, security, and application development, to support business requirements and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on SD-WAN technologies.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Hands-on experience with SD-WAN solutions, such as Cisco Viptela, VMware SD-WAN (formerly VeloCloud), or Silver Peak.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.
• Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid cloud architectures is a plus.
• Industry certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, or VMware VCP-NV, are preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
