Job Description

SDET, Test Engineering Responsible For
Design and implement test plans for Elastic Search-driven applications, ensuring the accuracy, relevance, and performance of search queries and indexing.
● Validate data consistency, query performance, and resiliency of Elastic Search clusters under different loads and failure conditions.
● Designing, developing, and executing automation scripts and test automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Rest Assured, JMeter, etc.
● Integrating automation scripts into continuous integration processes using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions, and advocating for continuous testing practices.
● Collaborating with Software/Test Engineers and Product Managers across the organisation to understand the context and drive automation and testing to improve product quality.
● Participating in exploratory testing and test design sessions to enhance overall product quality.

Qualifications

A minimum of 8 years of experience in Test Automation.
● Understanding of Elastic Search architecture, including index management, querying, sharing, and clustering, is highly desirable.
● The ability to work independently to ensure quality testing throughout the software life cycle by identifying, documenting, and tracking issues.
● Experience in Java and/or TypeScript, along with hands-on experience with automated testing tools (Cypress, Playwright, JMeter, Rest Assured, JMeter, Gatling, etc.).
● Experience with GitHub Actions, DevOps, Gradle, Jenkins, Docker, K8s and Helm chart
● A critical mindset to discern what to automate and what not to, strategically sampling critical tests with a focus on balancing risk, cost, and value
● Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues.

● Experienced in building test automation frameworks and working in a continuous delivery/continuous testing environment.
● Experienced in understanding complex architectures: analyses and interpret the backend system architecture, including microservices, event-driven systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and data flows.
● Familiar with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
● Able to identify testing and quality challenges and create innovative solutions to solve complex problems.
● A person with strong communication skills who enjoys collaborating with co-workers.
