SDET II

Job Summary & Responsibilities: 

We are looking for Sr. SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with Connected TV technology expertise to help develop test automation for Motor Trend+ Apps. This position will be responsible for testing and building automation to ensure our app can scale and meet the highest quality standard as possible. Essential duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: 

• Design, develop, and execute test plans and automated tests for TV apps.
• Extend and enhance our automation framework to improve test coverage and efficiency.
• Contribute to develop automation roadmap, and best practice. 
• Mentor junior engineers, overseeing their designs, code quality, and integration into a team.
• Participate in reviews of product requirements, use cases, user stories, and functional requirements to prepare automation plans and backlog in compliance with QA best practices and standards. 

Supervisory Responsibility: 

• This position will not include supervising one or more employees where applicable. 

Education/Experience: 

• 7+ years of experience in SDET capacity, including proven experience with building automation framework.
• Experience in TV App (Roku, tvOS, FireTV, Android TV)
• Roku Test Automation Framework experience is a big plus.
• 4+ years of experience in implementing test automation of mobile app.
• BA/BS in a Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience. 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

• Experience in developing automation framework and tests for Connected TV or mobile app.  
• Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting languages, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Node.js, Swift, Kotlin, BrightScript, etc.  
• Strong knowledge and experience with automation framework/tools such as WebDriver.io, Appium. 
• Working knowledge of CI/CD systems with automation (Jenkins, Circle CI)
• Working knowledge of source code management using GIT, various workflows, and popular branching models
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum) 

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in California. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of MotorTrend's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
