Seasonal Tax Preparer

Job Description:

We are seeking a seasonal Tax Preparer to join our Elk Grove Village, Evanston, McHenry, or Tinley Park office location. This is a part-time position with variable hours based on business needs; the position is a tax season only position requiring a commitment from mid-January to mid-April.

This position requires a high-energy, experienced tax professional with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

​Prepare individual, business, and trust income tax returns

​Perform tax research where appropriate

​Perform all work in compliance with the firm's policies and procedures

​Maintain technical tax skills through continuing professional education, on the job training and participation in internal tax training sessions

​Communicate directly with client when appropriate

​Be comfortable with face-to-face preparation for 1040 clients

​Other duties as assigned

Requirements/Desired Skills & Experience:

​3+ years of experience in individual income tax preparation

​Strong understanding of the tax preparation services

​Strong analytical skills to enable effective decision-making

​Ability to grasp concepts quickly and demonstrate knowledge of basic technical skills, as well as related knowledge of necessary systems and procedures

​Excellent client service orientation with an ability to handle pressure in a positive, professional manner

​Effective listening skills

​Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy
