We are seeking a candidate with strong technical accounting background in U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance. You will be assisting in the preparation of financial reporting documents, including SEC reporting documents (Form 10-K, Form 10-Qs, Form 8-Ks, etc.) and internal reporting packages for internal stakeholders. This person will also be involved in accounting research and documentation, processes design, controls implementation/maintenance, lease accounting assessment, and general support of financial reporting processes in accordance with SEC and US GAAP requirements.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the drafting, preparation, tie-outs and financial statement review of quarterly/annual SEC filings, including XBRL tagging, and other public filings, such as proxy statements and 8K's
  • Support the quarterly and annual external financial reporting timetable
  • Perform with month-end close activities including preparation/posting of journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and internal reporting processes
  • Perform lease accounting assessments, support month-end lease activities, and prepare lease footnotes
  • Perform technical accounting research and analysis of accounting matters, and prepare position memos as needed
  • Perform peer benchmarking on an ad-hoc basis
  • Maintain an effective control environment within the financial statement preparation and disclosure process while monitoring for emerging risks as there are changes in the process and refining current processes to make control procedures more efficient.
  • Support the establishment of accounting policies and partner with stakeholders to operationalize the procedures and ensure compliance
  • Collaborate with FP&A to prepare appropriate commentary or explanations relating to questions from management, budget variances, etc.
  • Support testing by internal and external auditors for their substantive and controls testing
  • Assist in special accounting and finance projects on an ad-hoc basis
  • Drive best practices for external reporting, day-to-day accounting operations and SOX compliance
  • Ad-hoc reporting for Financial Planning & Analysis, Investor Relations and/or the Controllership groups

Requirements

  • Bachelor or higher degree in accounting or finance
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience financial accounting, SEC reporting, technical accounting and/or public accounting
  • CPA and Big Four/National Accounting Firm experience highly preferred
  • Strong technical acumen, analytical and financial reporting skills
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, SOX 404 and SEC reporting standards
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently, complete work timely, and work well as a team member
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience researching and documenting accounting guidance and the accounting treatment of issues
  • Demonstrated professional commitment, with a service mindset, initiative, accountability, and ownership of assignments
  • Demonstrated integrity and honesty and model ethical behavior and core values of the company
  • Strong problem-solving skills identifying and resolving complex issues in an effective and time-sensitive pace
  • Experience working with Workiva reporting software is a plus

Pay Range: $100k to $115k
