Summary
The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland's (USAO-MD) mission is to enforce and defend the laws of the United States of America through the prosecution of criminal cases brought by the Federal government; the prosecution and defense of civil cases in which the United States is a party; and the collection of debts owed to the Federal government that are administratively uncollectible.

Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-08 level, you must possess:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (4) duties listed below:
- Preparing documents accurately and in proper format to ensure spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar have been verified;
- Using automation software to develop recurring reports and documents, which includes formatting the needed information properly in narrative, table, or graph formats;
- Reading or screening incoming mail;
- Integrating and/or manipulating output from different software types to meet user requirements.
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (4) of the (5) the duties listed below:
- Establishing priorities and arranging, shifting or canceling appointments and meetings for supervisor, independently;
- Reading, screening, and/or controlling incoming mail;
- Preparing correspondence and other communication that presents the view of supervisors, ensuring documents are in proper format;
- Producing a variety of written documents and information reports utilizing varied and advanced functions in different types of office automation software;
- Making travel arrangements for leadership.
