Security Analyst

This position will be based in Austin, TX. 

Responsibilities 

• Provides support to the end-user community and ensures they have up-to-date protection from malicious software and other cyber threats. 
• Provides reports and other information related to information security issues as requested by management and other groups. 
• Proactively monitor the environment to detect and implement steps to mitigate cyber-attacks before they occur. 
• Review, investigate, and respond to real-time alerts within the environment. 
• Conduct periodic network scans to find any vulnerability. 
• Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, through the use of software that detects intrusions and anomalous system behavior. 
• Reporting results of scanning or testing and providing security recommendations for further system security enhancement directly to the management. 
• Investigate security breaches. 
• Interacts with end users concerning malware, spam, vulnerabilities and any other cybersecurity issues. 
• Reviews system generated logs for anomalies and takes appropriate actions. 
• Actively probes the network for new threats and risks. 
• Implements and ensures technical security systems including SIEM, IDS, antivirus, web and email filters. 

Qualifications

• CISSP certification is preferred but not required. 
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity is preferred.
• Experience with security risk and compliance management, assessment, auditing, research and/or consulting, as well as experience with AV/EDR, Firewalls, SIEM, penetration testing and application security toolsets are definite bonuses. 
• Experience working with SIEM tools such as Splunk Enterprise Security or ArcSight. 
• Strong understanding of MacOS and Windows systems configurations and use as well as administration/troubleshooting capabilities. 
• Experience in security vulnerability scanning tools, preferably Nessus. 
• Ability to conduct sensitive security investigations and maintain confidentiality
