Job Description

As we enter our next phase of scaling, we are working with large global partners who are challenging us to continuously improve our security maturity. We are thus looking to bring on a Security Architect who can drive these efforts. In this new role, you will proactively define our security policy and roadmap, guide our security-related interactions with customers and partners, and lead the software team's efforts to implement and enhance security systems and processes.

The ideal candidate will

  • Work with stakeholders to build and maintain Sense's security and data privacy policies.
  • Identify and drive improvements to systems, architecture, and processes to support these policies.
  • Manage cybersecurity with partners in concert with the Product and Sales teams by providing answers to security questionnaires, reviewing and negotiating customer cybersecurity requirements, and being the point of contact for external cybersecurity teams.
  • Lead compliance efforts based on selected industry frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Analyze our product and make recommendations on how to improve security posture using knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Drive implementation of security recommendations through documentation of requirements and tutoring of other engineers on how to implement improvements and remediation.
  • Implement, maintain and improve operational security controls such as monitoring, identity and access management, encryption and data security, self-auditing, vulnerability management, etc.

This role reports to the VP of Engineering.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in IT Security
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or similar field from a four-year accredited university, or additional 5+ years professional experience.
  • Experience in and knowledge of
    • Infrastructure security, secure SDLC and secure SaaS practices
    • Security compliance and frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, IEC 62443
    • Security reviews for code/design/architecture and requirements, including standards (e.g. OWASP, SANS)
    • Data encryption solutions; including symmetric and asymmetric encryption, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), TLS, AES
    • Risk assessment and management, and threat modeling
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services or other cloud-based infrastructure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to confidently interact at multiple levels both inside and outside of the organization.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
