Security Detection Engineer - New Grad (2023 Start)

The Detection & Response team's mission is to preserve Databricks infrastructure and employees from active security threats. We are a tight-knit team of security analysts and incident responders doing "Security for Databricks on Databricks", using our own platform to create near-real-time log analytics, alerting and forensics. You will be an individual contributor on the Security Detection team at Databricks, reporting to the Director of Detection Engineering.

You are passionate about software engineering for Security goals. You will learn to build on PySpark, and write clean, modular and tested code. You love to learn and collaborate with a team.

The impact you will have:

• Build detection-as-code in Python using the Databricks PySpark engine with clean code and unit tests.
• Help manage a high-assurance operational environment serving US Government customers.
• Write documentation and analysis notebooks to guide Incident Response.
• Take feedback well, and give feedback in an environment of mutual respect and aid.

What we look for:

• An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or another technical field.
• 1+ years of school, personal (such as an open source project) or professional experience with Python and Git/GitHub.
• A demonstrated interest in Information Security through your school or personal projects, intern experience, or work experience in at least one of: Network security, Host/Disk analysis, Application/Log analysis, Memory/Malware analysis, Endpoint security
• Some contact with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure or GCP)

In order to comply with U.S. Government information security and federal contractor regulations, including Department of Defense Cloud Computing Security Requirements for Impact Level 6 Cloud Service Provider personnel, and facilitate compliance with other regulations such as FedRAMP High baseline, and requirements of certain federal contracts, this role is open to United States citizens on United States Soil only.
