Security Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Security Engineer who can quickly secure and harden our environment. This role requires someone flexible hands-on and able to thrive in a small shop environment. The ideal candidate will have strong data security expertise with exposure to PCI DSS and compliance frameworks being a plus.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly assess secure and harden systems networks and applications.

• Implement and manage security controls monitoring tools and best practices.

• Work across teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.

• Develop and enforce data security policies and procedures.

• Assist in compliance-related activities including PCI DSS and other regulatory frameworks.

• Provide guidance on incident response threat mitigation and security awareness.

• Stay current with emerging threats vulnerabilities and industry standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in information security or cybersecurity engineering .

• Strong knowledge of data security practices and vulnerability management.

• Familiarity with PCI DSS or similar compliance standards.

• Hands-on experience with security tools (SIEM firewalls IDS/IPS endpoint protection etc.).

• Ability to work independently and flexibly in a small fast-paced team.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience securing environments with PCI data .

• Compliance background (ISO 27001 NIST HIPAA etc.).

• Scripting or automation experience (Python PowerShell Bash).
