JOB TITLE: Security Engineer LOCATION: Remote

THE ROLE:

We are hiring a Security Engineer to join our growing Security Engineering team!  Working alongside SRE and the Data Engineering teams this role is at the core of our operations ensuring the security of our client software cloud infrastructure and customer-facing APIs. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Work with the Site Reliability and Data Engineering teams to bootstrap security processes access controls and observability of our production systems and Data Warehouse.

  • Work with peers in Engineering to evaluate risk iterate on software design and ensure security best practices as a part of the RFC process.

  • Work with Legal Finance and Product Engineering to ensure the secure storage transmission governance and when needed compliant disposal of data.

  • Ensure the security of our production and corporate networks by deploying solutions like SIEM intrusion detection systems and cloud security management tools.

  • Build self-service tooling that enables Product Engineering to nimbly build their applications while also maintaining a solid baseline of security with every deployment.

  • Help to build a culture of security at a fast moving start-up through education consulting and conversation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Deep knowledge of security best practices and procedures (secrets management principle of least privilege etc.)

  • Experience with consulting threat modeling and risk assessment and management

  • Experience building deploying and monitoring software on Cloud Platforms such as AWS and GCP

  • Experience working with containers and container orchestration like AWS ECS or EKS.

  • Experience with integrating and deploying security scanning tools particularly in the context of CI/CD

  • 3+ years experience writing software using modern languages like Go Python Typescript / Javascript etc

  • Knowledge of mobile development on Android and iOS

  • Excellent communication skills

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Experience with incident response systems especially with detecting and escalating security incidents.

  • Experience with root cause analysis across distributed systems

The national pay range for this role is $129500 - $14200. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
