Currently Remote – Must be local to Ashburn, VA, periodic onsite at Ashburn, VA

Clearance:  Ability to obtain the required government security clearance (U.S. Customs and Border Protection Public Trust). Existing DHS, CBP or active Top Secret clearance preferred

If so, Dev Technology Group is looking to fill a new Security Engineer role that might be a fit for you. Our Security team includes Information System Security Officers (ISSOs), Security Analysts and Security Engineers who support a government customer in ensuring strong security policies are created, managed and overseen by the intelligent use of management and monitoring tools. This role interfaces directly with the client to design and implement security solutions, as well as detect and manage security incidents.

Responsibilities: 

• Design and automate processes that support the ISSOs, such as system log management and intrusion detection processes
• Create dashboards to assess information about security findings
• Manage system certifications
• Collaborate with auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with security regulations and standards

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of professional experience in the IT industry
• Familiarity with Security practices and principles; prior experience interfacing with ISSOs
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
• Experience with Python
• Experienced with Business Intelligence and Analytics tools (Microsoft Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau or similar) to facilitate data visualization and management reporting
• Understanding of REST API design and implementation
• Knowledgeable in PKI certificate management
• Familiar with Cloud/Containerization technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Superior communication skills – both verbal and written, with a passion for exceeding customer expectations

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experienced with Splunk and ELK stack for log management and data analysis
• Knowledgeable in Vulnerability Management practices and tools
• Skilled in Secure Code Reviews for identifying security vulnerabilities in software code
