The Role

We are seekingSecurity Engineer, responsible for executing security controls and defenses. This individual will be deploying countermeasures, intercepting threats, and preventing internal or external attacks or other attempts to infiltrate company email, data, e-commerce, and web based systems.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Systems Security
    • Performs security assessments of applications and systems
    • Oversee and contribute to the tracking, prioritizing and resolution of security incidents, issues and vulnerabilities to provide a thorough post-event analysis
    • Research and evaluate cybersecurity threats and perform root cause analysis
    • Assist in planning, design and build of security architectures
    • Vulnerability Assessment Remediation: Analyze reports generated from comprehensive vulnerability assessments. Develop and implement strategies for mitigating identified vulnerabilities in our information systems.
    • Endpoint Security Detections Response: Monitor, interpret, and respond promptly and efficiently to endpoint security alerts and detections
    • SIEM Detections Response: Monitor, interpret, and respond to Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) detections. Analyze security logs to identify potential threats or incidents.
  • Security Guidance
    • Assist with the training and development of end users and IT staff when necessary
    • Assist in providing security guidance to the business and IT staff during process and solution development
    • Assist and develop security policies and procedures
    • Develop risk mitigation plans and assist with their implementation.

 

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 8+ years of full-time experience in Information Technology implementation, maintenance and support.
  • 5+ years of full-time hands-on experience in an IT Security position.
  • 3+ Years Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware systems, system software, networks and application software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Ability to research and ascertain best-practices concepts relative to all aspects of both system environment and information security.
  • Problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Inquiring mindset with the ability to think analytically and provide effective feedback, where appropriate.
  • Experience securing cloud environments.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines while simultaneously working on multiple projects.
  • (Nice to have) 4 year degree in Information Technology and Information Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering (OR equivalent experience)
  • (Nice to have) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
