Security Engineer
Job Description
As an Microsoft Security Administrator Associate , you will be providing cyber security support to enterprise level clients. You will be responsible for the Information Assurance and Security of application, database, and enterprise network services. In addition, you will be performing activities associated with the delivery of Cybersecurity policy implementation and network solutions associated with customer-defined systems and software projects.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assess organizational progress against existing security strategies, plans, or directives
- Provide information security expertise and consulting
- Implement an information security framework
- Plan, design, and implement security-related technologies
- Ensure new and existing products conform to information security policies, standards, and best practices
- Review new and existing system designs for compliance with security standards and best practices
- Analyze existing security strategies, roadmaps, and implementation plans
- Conduct analysis of alternatives in response to customer requirements
- Cross-train and mentor other staff members as needed
- Develop policy, programs, and guidelines for implementation
Location and Travel Details
This is a remote position with occasional travel (as needed).
Security Clearance and Citizenship Requirements
Must be able to maintain and/or obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Profile of Success
At least 2 to 5 years of experience with proactively securing Microsoft 365 enterprise hybrid environments, implementing and managing security and compliance solutions, responding to threats, and enforcing data governance. Minimum of 3 years experience in systems/security engineering
- Must Obtain or currently have the Microsoft AZ-900 Certfication. CISSP highly desired.
- The ideal candidate will draw on previous information assurance exposure to assist with cloud system certification and accreditation activities
- Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) or FedRAMP ATO process to include a working knowledge of the various steps/stages within the process
- Knowledgeable of relevant NIST Special Publications guidance as it pertains to the RMF
- Experience leading RMF Cybersecurity/IA Activities
- Strong knowledge and experience with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
Experience and/or proficient knowledge with Azure and O365 resources related to security:
- Sentinel
- Defender
- Resource Manager
- Monitor Logs
- Layered Security Architecture
Desirable Skills
- Current CompTIA Security+ Certification preferred or the ability to obtain CompTIA
- Desire to obtain or utilize technical certifications as part of continuous professional growth
