Position Title: Security Engineer
Location: downtown Los Angeles (on-site)
Contract: 2 Years Contract
Skills Qualifications:
a. Required Certification: CISSP
b. Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certification Azure Solutions Architect Expert, SANS GIAC, OSCP, CEH-CCNA
c. Minimum 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, primarily focused on technical and Security Operations Center (SOC) functions.
d. Expertise in User Behavior Analytics, Cybersecurity AI tools, SIEM, Endpoint Security, NextGen Firewalls, etc.
e. Advanced knowledge of security applications, infrastructure, technologies, and methodologies.
f. Up-to-date understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
g. Initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
h. Ability to prioritize work processes and projects effectively.
i. Timely response to cybersecurity issues and incidents.
j. Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills in cybersecurity.
k. Adaptability to rapidly changing technology and its application to business needs.
l. Capability to analyze and document technical processes and procedures.
m. Professional interaction with various levels of Metro employees and external representatives.
n. Interpretation and application of local, state, and federal policies, procedures, laws, and regulations regarding information security with a focus on technical implications.
“Security Engineer” AND (“Certified Information Systems Security Professional” OR “CISSP”) AND “cybersecurity”
Skill Matrix :
1. Provide copies of required certifications for each proposed resource: CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CIPP.
2. Provide copies of preferred certifications: CEH, OSCP, Azure Security Engineer Associate, SANS GIAC.
3. Knowledge and experience with a variety of security products, cybersecurity tools, technologies, and methods.
4. Incident response, disaster recovery, business continuity, and breach management.
5. Theories, principles, and practices of information systems engineering, secure software
development, network security, and/or security operations.
6. Security standards, frameworks, best practices, and privacy acts (e.g. PCI DSS, etc.)
7. Industry frameworks such as ISO 27000, NIST 800-53, ITIL Foundation, NIST Cybersecurity, etc.
8. In-depth knowledge of information security risks and counter-measures for Windows and Linux platforms.
