Job Description

Job Summary

The Security Engineer I implements, maintains, and operates security controls in support of Exeter's cyber-security program. This role designs, implements, maintains, and operates controls according to sound cyber-risk management principles and aligns with relevant standards. This role requires good security fundamentals and the ability to collaborate effectively with other security team members.

Job Duties

• Provide support for Tenable.io and the vulnerability management process
• Analyze and investigate SIEM alerts for suspicious activity and follow incident response procedures when required.
• Provide operational support for cyber security tool alerts, triaging and maintenance.
• Design, implement, maintain, and operate Exeter's security controls.
• Support the technical aspects of compliance activities: NYDFS, PCI, GLBA.
• Ensures compliance with Exeter's policies & procedures, safety, state and federal laws, regulations and standards.
• Assist the vulnerability management program with researching, investigating and coordinating remediation efforts across various departments.
• Maintain all security systems and their corresponding software, including IDS/IPS, anti-virus, SIEM, email gateway, and DLP.
• Research security trends, methods, and techniques used in order to preemptively eliminate security risks within the environment.

Education and Work Experience

• College Degree or equivalent experience in information security technology or required field, or equivalent work experience.
• Zero+ (0) years direct related experience.
• Proven progressive security experience.
• Experience in at least two (2) of these areas: Splunk, Palo Alto Networks, Carbon Black Enterprise Response, Carbon Black Enterprise Protect, McAfee VirusScan, Mimecast, Sailpoint IdentityNow, Duo Security, Vormetric, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Advanced Threat Protection, Tenable Nessus, Kenna Security, Symantec (Vontu) DLP Network Discover/Protect, Vulnerability Management, Vendor Management, Risk Management, IT Audit, Security Administration.
