Responsibilities and Position Purpose

The Security Manager is responsible for the overall management of the security department to ensure guest, employee, artist and venue safety. Also control's cost and insures total guest satisfaction by guarding, patrolling, monitoring the premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules

Example of Duties- Average percent of time
  • 30% Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, counsels and disciplines security staff for the efficient operation of the security department. Organizes and conducts meetings and communicates pertinent information to the staff. Schedules and directs staff in their work assignments
  • 20% Regularly reviews and evaluates the department and recommends and implements new operational policies and procedures when necessary. Investigates and resolves security complaints. Interacts positively with guests
  • 20% Moves throughout the venue and all areas to visually monitor and take corrective action when needed. Provides guidance and improvement and implements necessary adjustments
  • 15% Responsible for ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures that relate to the security department as well as local, state and federal laws and regulations
  • 10% Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
  • 5% Other tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager


Supportive Functions

  • Work with scheduling payroll administrator to ensure that all staffing needs are met
  • Budget appropriately for each show's needs while working to reach the overall operating per/head goal
  • Work in conjunction with the GM to manage all operational processes within the annual facility budget.
  • Escort or drive motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations or to provide personal protection.

Qualifications:
  • Combination of 3-5 years experience in a role similar to this position.
  • Strong computer skills in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other related computer programs.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
