Security Manager

We are looking for a Security Manager, who enjoys cyber security work and possesses both deep and wide expertise in the security space. 

You will define and lead efforts intended to ensure our identity management capability remains secure and compliant with FISMA and the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Responsibilities: 

• Plan, design, coordinate implementation and monitor security measures as needed for the protection of the identity management capability. 
• Identify emerging security requirements and ensure they are addressed. 
• Prepare, document and maintain cyber security standard operating procedures and plans.
• Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks 
• Ensure the identity management incident response and contingency plans remain up-to-date and in alignment with their Agency-wide counterpart plans. 
• Provide oversight and leadership to ensure vulnerability management activities are well-defined, up-to-date and being performed consistently by appropriate staff. 
• Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement 

Qualifications: 

• Implementing and developing security procedures, protocols, and policies
• Planning and coordinating various security operations for the organization’s functions
• Experience in building and maintaining security systems 
• Familiarity with database and operating system security 
• Familiarity with security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc. 
• Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools 
• Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols 
• Thorough understanding of NIST 800 series, especially 800-53 and 800-63, and the NIST RMF
• Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols 
• Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure 
• BS degree in Computer Science or related field 
• Must hold U.S. citizenship
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government clearance
