Security Operations Manager

Vast is looking for a Security Operations Manager, reporting to the Director of Security, to maintain the current security footprint and help plan/scale for the future.
This is an exempt position based out of our Long Beach, CA facility.Â
Responsibilities:Â
- Implement VAST’s physical security initiatives and operations for all three of the company’s Southern California locations.
- Oversee security processes and policies to reduce risk, respond to incidents and limit exposure and liability in all areas.
- Conduct and supervise reports relating to internal and external investigations of any incidents, regulations, policies and/or procedures
- Recruit, hire, and retain Security teammates, through proper coaching and performance management.Â
- Establish performance goals for the security teams and continuously monitor progress.
- Ensure all individual required training is completed, with a heavy emphasis on professional development and supporting processes.
- Conduct regular staff and team meetings to discuss goals and strategy, celebrate successes, and share best practices.
- Manage daily Security Officer operational staffing requirements and administrative functions.
- Lead by example to ensure the best customer service is being provided to all Employees, visitors and customers.
- Manages the 3rd party security contractors daily.
- Plan and implement “event” security, coordinating with Facilities and EHS departments.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Security Director.
Minimum Qualifications:Â
- 4 years of experience managing security teams in an industrial or similar environment.
- 6 years experience in physical security or 4 years Military service.Â
- The ability to travel between three Southern California locations weekly.
- Valid California driver's license.
- Current BSIS Guard card.
Preferred Skills & Experience:Â
- Prior experience with managing security teams in a controlled environment. Â
- Familiar with access control and video surveillance systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, along with effective teamwork abilities.Â
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Additional Requirements:Â
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, or weekends to support critical mission milestones or perform work when others aren’t on property.Â
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
Pay Range:Â
- Security Operations Manager Level III: $79,400 - $104,500

Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package. U.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUS
The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing. This status includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), and asylees and refugees with such status granted, not pending.
