Position: Security Program Analyst (Remote)

Location: Remote, however occasional work out of the Advocate Support Center in Downers Grove, IL. as needed.

Full Time; Day shift hours

Major Responsibilities:
  • Contributes to the overall Quality Improvement Program and participates in cost reduction through Continuous Quality Improvement teams/projects.
    • Based on data requirements, selects appropriate databases or appropriate statistical analysis software to perform statistical tests appropriate to the project.
    • Serve as internal consultant with data interpretation and evaluation.
    • Writes interpretive reports of data analysis highlighting variations in process and outcomes and opportunities for improvement.
    • Provides data analysis for Administration, Management, Medical Staff, Quality Management, and Staff in support of Performance Improvement Activities.
  • Planning & Implementing - manages, plans, and executes projects utilizing Advocate's Project Management methodology.
    • Manages visual performance boards, scorecards, key performance indicators and/or other designated performance dashboards.
    • Leads integrated project teams supporting development, deployment, operations, audits, training plans, and other system activities. Maintains collaborative relationships with department director, managers, associates, and Advocate Health Care system contacts.
    • Coordinates and leads improvement initiatives utilizing a holistic approach and change strategies. Develops and coordinates planning management through briefings and presentations and prepares reports and/or findings on the conclusions and recommendations drawn from the data/information.
    • Provides consultation regarding best practices of deployment with specific emphasis on systemic implementation.
    • Supports organizational level changes by articulating a shared need, shaping the vision, mobilizing the commitment, helping to make change last, and monitoring progress.
  • Provides Program Administrative Support.
    • Manages enterprise contracts and monitors service level agreements for security systems, uniforms, contracted guard services, etc.
    • Manages the program budget and accounting.
    • Performs a broad range of complex operational functions and administrative responsibilities.
    • Use Microsoft Office programs, including Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access to prepare final reports, briefings, presentations, and databases in support of the program team.
    • Ensures accurate, concise, and timely information is available to executive management. Presents data to support decision making.
    • Prepares and presents oral briefings and written reports on the conclusions and recommendations drawn from the data/information.
    • Assists with on-boarding activities, orientation, and training for new team members.
  • Bridges security operations and system administration.
    • Uses knowledge of Public Safety operations in the healthcare environment to configure security management software and systems. Assists in standardizing Public Safety operations to improve effectiveness, efficiency, resiliency, and reliability of Public Safety teams.
    • Establishes, monitors, and maintains the systematic collection of operational metrics to enable goals to be measured and achieved.
    • Coordinates with the Advocate Security Command Center and site operational staff to support unity of effort.
    • Manipulates a variety of databases, manages data findings, and inputs and extracts data from multiple databases/sources. Analyzes data to identify problems, significant factors, and trends to assist in decision-making.


Education/Experience Required:
  • Associates degree or 60 credit hours of college level experience.
  • Five years of progressive security experience in a healthcare environment or; experience in developing, interpreting, and communicating policy or; training and advising managers, supervisors, and employees in the security and safety area or; conducting program planning and evaluation or; knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement theory and statistics OR Four years experience in analysis of data and process improvement.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of decision support systems.
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships.
  • Proven critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve independently. Understanding of statistics.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and display data. Knowledge in meaningful data collection.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • This position is expected to work out of the Downers Grove office and requires periodic local travel to other Advocate locations. Possess valid driver's license. On call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. May carry a pager. Ability to work under stressful situations. Visual competency. Ability to communicate clearly. Self-directed and detail oriented, possess critical thinking and analytic skills.
