The KLA Global Workplace Services (GWS) team is passionate about enabling the business goals and company culture through the delivery of workplace environments and services that foster teamwork, innovation and productivity. Our team runs a worldwide portfolio of over 3 million square feet, 135 sites and over 12,000 employees. In addition to ensuring the workspace and manufacturing facilities operate seamlessly, this group also provides employee and site services, such as cafeteria, transportation, security, and safety. The team is responsible for all construction and site improvement work to enable the business needs as well as align with the financial requirements.
Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
KLA Global Security Operations & Systems organization, along with the EH&S team, are growing. To maintain global standardization and consistency, we are seeking an authority to carry out our vision. The security project coordinator will be responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operation of the company background check process, using a vested 3rd party supplier, along with maintaining US OSHA logs, and Worker's Compensation (WC) reviews.
The position will be based at our 2nd headquarters location in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Specifically, the position will coordinate the following responsibilities and report to the global security operations manager:
- Be responsible for the day-to-day functions of the company background check process and provide timely updates and results to recruiters as needed
- Communicate directly to recruiters on a consistent basis to ensure timely completion of all background checks
- Liaise between recruiters, prospective candidates, and the screening company to ensure lines of communication are open
- Keep management advised of any report that may constitute, 'a do not meet company standard,' so that appropriate action can be taken
- Review background check results daily and follow up with any enquiries that may be requested from the screening company
- Contact prospective candidates on any adverse results in order to validate and then provide follow up to the screening company as an aid in adjudication
- Be able to review, analyze, and evaluate final results in order to adjudicate cases if pending, as well as update management on necessary steps for finalizing cases
- A focus on continual improvements to the program and practicing Best-Known-Methods
- When vital, assist in contract development, working with our Legal and Procurement teams
- Be able to build and evaluate data for upper management reporting
- Maintain US OSHA logs for all required facilities
- Submit State & Federal OSHA reports after approval from EH&S
- Initiate Worker's Compensation claim filings, case management and case reviews
- Liaise between KLA and Worker's Compensation carrier & counsel
- Track basic data required for OSHA & WC reports, such as hours worked, incident status, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- An Associate's Degree and two (2) years of experience, or a High School Diploma and a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Applicant should possess excellent written and verbal skills, strong attention to detail, and a focus on customer service
- Have knowledge and basic experience with respect to the Fair Credit Reporting Act and other regulations governing the background check process
- Be able to read sophisticated background check results as they pertain to the above
- Be able to work independently and meet scheduled deadlines, while working as a member of a team
- Have strong analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Be Customer focused by responding promptly and appropriately to customer requests, while understanding business needs
- Have an ability to clearly and concisely work with those that have no knowledge of the employment screening process and OSHA guidelines
- Have an ability to set goals with timelines
- Have analytical and strategic problem-solving capabilities
- Have solid understanding of computer operations and applications, including MS Office, internet browsing, and an ability to quickly understand additional HR programs and tools
