Security Specialist I

As a Security Specialist I, you will be responsible for facilitating administrative security processes such as personnel security, incoming visitor coordination, badging activities, and other general security customer service activities. You'll manage classified material and document control activities, control Communication Security materials, administer local physical security systems, and conduct inventories of classified holdings. In addition, you will assist in the development and implementation of security practices to maintain compliance with security regulations, support security awareness education, and training, assist with the Security Clearance process for employees, and participate in security self-assessment initiatives.

Must Haves:• Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 0-2 or more years of relevant experience• Higher education may substitute for relevant experience• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education• Strong verbal and electronic communication skills
Preferred:• Familiarity with security regulations and best practices• Knowledge of 32 CFR 117: National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM)• Previous experience with access control/visit control/badge management systems and software• Military or Defense Contractor experience• The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $59,935.70 - $82,411.59
