Job DescriptionQuantum-Si is seeking an experienced wafer characterization engineer to join the team that developed the world’s first massively parallel, single molecule detection chip for protein sequencing. This position provides opportunities to develop hardware and protocols for characterization of our proprietary device, which includes a custom ASIC, advanced high-speed pixels, as well as integrated photonic waveguides. In this position, you will have a critical role in Quantum-Si’s R&D and product development team.
As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:
- Characterization and testing of advanced CMOS circuits and high-speed optical sensors
- Collecting and analyzing data on wafers and packaged parts from wafer probers and other instruments at our site in Branford, Connecticut
- Analyze and evaluate component performance versus specification to ensure optimal balance of component performance and yield
- Monitor trends in device performance and overall yield
- Proactively identify potential issues, communicate findings, and work with teams to drive resolution
- Continually improve our test hardware and software to add new characterization capabilities
- Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and/or Computer Science and 3+ years of experience or a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and 2+ years of experience in:
- Semiconductor characterization / test engineering or design
- Scripting in Python or similar language(s)
- Detail oriented and well organized
- Clear communicator both verbal and written
Ideally, the candidate also has these skills/experiences/attributes:
- Familiarity with ATE (Automated Test Equipment)
- Experience with semiconductor and/or photonics device test and Design for TEST (DfT) methods
- Digital or Analog validation and test, Array Test Program development in high volume manufacturing
- Statistical data analysis and data system automation
- Experience with software control of lab equipment
- Experience with modern open source software ecosystem
- Experience with CMOS image sensors

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $100,000 - $150,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
