This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior 5G Network Level Engineer in India.
This role sits at the core of advanced 5G network validation, where deep protocol expertise meets real-world system implementation. You will be responsible for testing and validating end-to-end 5G Small Cell and RAN systems against strict 3GPP Release 15/16/17 standards, ensuring full compliance across complex network architectures. Operating in a highly technical lab environment, you will analyze live network behavior, debug call flows, and resolve interoperability issues across multi-vendor systems. The position requires strong hands-on expertise in protocol stacks, signaling flows, and network performance optimization. You will also leverage automation and AI-assisted tools to enhance debugging efficiency and accelerate root cause analysis. This is a high-impact engineering role where your work directly influences network reliability, scalability, and next-generation 5G performance. Accountabilities:
- Execute end-to-end validation of 5G RAN and Small Cell systems against 3GPP Release 15/16/17 specifications.
- Analyze protocol signaling (RRC, NGAP, XnAP, NAS) to identify deviations and ensure standards compliance.
- Perform deep root cause analysis of complex network issues using tools such as Wireshark, QXDM, and QCAT.
- Debug call processing flows including ENDC (NSA), SA architectures, mobility events, and handover failures.
- Investigate performance issues such as throughput drops, signaling failures, and security tunnel setup problems.
- Develop Python and Robot Framework scripts to automate protocol testing and data analysis workflows.
- Leverage AI tools to analyze logs, process PCAP files, and accelerate failure diagnostics.
- Manage lab environments, including network element configuration, SeGW setup, and core network simulation tuning.
- 5–10 years of experience in 5G RAN, Small Cells, or telecom protocol engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of 3GPP standards including TS 38.331, TS 38.413, TS 38.423, and TS 24.501.
- Hands-on expertise in LTE/5G call flows, mobility events, handovers, and RAN feature debugging.
- Solid knowledge of IETF protocols such as IPsec, IKEv2, SCTP, and secure network gateway integration.
- Experience with protocol analysis tools such as Wireshark, QXDM, QCAT, XCAL, or XCAP.
- Proficiency in Python and scripting for automation, log analysis, and packet processing.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted debugging tools and data-driven engineering workflows.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently in complex lab and multi-vendor environments.
